MOMME EXPLAINED

Momme is the unit of weight measurement for real silk. Simply put, the higher the momme, the more tightly woven, heavier and more dense the silk weave will be.

Higher momme silk is made with thicker yarn. In this sense, momme is similar to thread count, the common measurement of cotton.

22 momme is the perfect weight, providing the ultimate lustre and the ideal weight for breathability. Anything lower is sub par quality, or higher is too dense, hot and heavy.

Each of our bespoke pieces are lovingly designed and handcrafted in Western Australia, including the refined finishes, assuring the finest quality. Our talented seamstress resides in Perth, her eminence passion, eye for detail and decades of experience is evident in every perfect thread.

Silk, much like the best things in life, responds to love and care.

WASHING

Careful cool - warm hand washing is ideal, silk can not be exposed to heat above 30 degrees as this can irreversibly damage the fibres of the silk. Always with like colours and always using delicate fabric detergent. Dry cleaning is always the safest option, at establishments that are experienced in fine silk. Treat your silk like a wedding dress a little care will preserve the beauty benefits that silk posesses.

DRYING

Lay a clean dry towel down, place the item on top and gently roll the silk. Lay flat in the shade to complete drying.
